How long does onboarding take for a new municipality?
Most municipalities are fully onboarded within 6–10 weeks. This includes system configuration, data migration, staff training, and a pilot rollout with a subset of wards. Our onboarding team handles all technical setup — your staff just needs to attend training sessions.
Does Muniserv work in rural municipalities with poor connectivity?
Yes. The citizen app is optimised for low-bandwidth environments and the Field Worker App works fully offline, syncing when connectivity is restored. We also support USSD-based fault reporting for feature phone users in rural areas with limited smartphone access.
Is Muniserv POPIA compliant?
Absolutely. Muniserv was built with POPIA compliance from the ground up. Citizen data is stored on South African servers (Tier 3+ data centres), is never shared with third parties, and citizens can request deletion of their data at any time. We conduct annual third-party security audits.
Can we integrate Muniserv with our existing ERP system?
Yes. We have pre-built integrations for SAP, Sage 300, and municipal billing systems used by most South African municipalities. Custom REST API integrations are available for other systems. Our technical team will scope the integration requirements during onboarding.
What support is included in the subscription?
All plans include 24/7 system monitoring, business-hours email support, and access to our Help Centre. Enterprise plans include a dedicated customer success manager, quarterly business reviews, priority phone support, and custom SLA agreements.
Can citizens use Muniserv without downloading the app?
Yes. Citizens can access a web-based version at your municipality's branded Muniserv portal. We also support USSD fault reporting (*120*MUNI#) for basic phones. Walk-in kiosk integrations are available for municipal offices.
